In the face of a currently weak Detroit area economy, several football players were still able to find high paying jobs with the Detroit Lions. Newly signed defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch hopes to be a positive example and an inspiration to residents of the Motor City that are still searching for gainful employment.

After successfully completing a brisk walk down the hall from the bedroom to his kitchen to prepare some toast for breakfast, Tiger Woods declared himself in golf shape. Woods had left counseling, and reports said he was trying to get fit to return to competition. After finishing a walk down the lengthy hallway in his Florida mansion with little difficulty, Woods says he is fit enough to golf again.

The Winter Olympics have graciously decided to lend hockey players to the NHL for the next 47 months. Several experts wondered if hockey players would be allowed to play elsewhere while the Olympics are on hiatus, but due to the wildly successful gold medal game between the United States and Canada, the organizers of the games think it would be best if an attempt were made to maintain the popularity of Olympic hockey before the next tournament takes place in 2014.

Even elite athletes will make mistakes, Vancouver Winter Games included, where several skiers, snowboarders and skaters have fallen while competing in their respective events. Joseph Stewartson, who has been known to slip on ice while simply walking, thinks it is a total embarrassment for an Olympic athlete to fall in a sport they've trained their entire life for.

UConn men's basketball just submitted their most up to date resume to the NCAA, listing the team's biggest wins and top accomplishments. However the program has allegedly padded their resume in a deceitful attempt to get a tournament bid, claiming they pulled off a 10-point victory over the 1992 Dream Team in early December.

NBC has drawn some heat for its controversial tape delayed Olympic coverage, and this is sure to add some heat to the fire. As a result of a production error, the men's bobsled from the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics never aired, and the network has chosen to subtly work it into this year's Vancouver Olympics.

A blockbuster NBA trade was finalized today, involving 27 teams, 62 players and 34 draft picks. The trade is much too complicated to explain, and may even be too difficult for the league to completely sort out. But as of right now, 15 teams have elevated themselves to become instant contenders to reach the Finals.
