Apr. 13, 2010 - New York, United States - NEW YORK (USA), 12/4/2010.- New York Knicks' Sergio Rodriguez (L) tries to approach the basket defended by Washington Wizards' Mike MIller (R) during their NBA basket match played at the Madison Square Garden in New York, United Sates, 12 April 2010.

Only hours before quite possibly the most eventful free agent period in NBA history where everyone seems up for grabs, it was discovered that one player is not even a free agent. The Knicks notified the league they had failed to remember guard Sergio Rodriguez was already under contract with the team.

"Huh. I thought we cleared everybody off the roster to make sure we had ample salary cap room for LeBron," said general manager Donnie Walsh after learning he had failed to remove one player from the team. "Apparently we forgot he was even on the roster with all of these elaborate schemes we're concocting to sign multiple top-tier free agents. C'mon. Don't act like its not easy for forget Sergio Rodriguez."

Walsh and owner James Dolan say they will apologize to Rodriguez, just as soon as they take care of this important free agent stuff.

"It's been about a three year plan in anticipation of this moment," said Dolan. "We want to sign LeBron James, and two or three other All-Star type guys. It's been so long since we had anyone like that, we're not going to waste any energy for some guy that's already on our roster. No offense to Sergio. His name is Sergio, right?"

Rodriguez says no hard feelings, and admits he has been trying for some time to forget he plays for the Knicks.
