The NFL is placing a new concussion policy in locker rooms around the league to remind players that violent, hard-hitting collisions will still be pretty awesome, as well as really entertaining. According to commissioner Roger Goodell, the document is a must read for every NFL player.

"We want players to understand that forcefully driving an opposing player off his feet and into the turf is still one of the most marketable aspects of our game," said Goodell. "Without violent, destructive hits, its basically Pop Warner football. We encourage our players to hit as absolutely hard as they can, as long as it's not on a quarterback. Those guys are the face of the league. Doing that will still get you a 15-yard penalty and a hefty fine."

By reinforcing the impressiveness of violent collisions, the league hopes players don't confuse a concussion policy as a document that requires them to be overly careful.

"Bone crushing contact has always been a part of the game and we want our players to continue that tradition as long as they do it safely," Goodell continued. "If you look at retired players, they seem to be functioning fairly well except for some mild drooling and balance problems. I bet they'd tell today's players it was all worth it for those highlight tackles that will live on forever on NFL Network."
