Hockey has long been a popular and important sport all across Canada. However, after the heavily favored Canadian team was upset by the United States, many Canadian fans are now pondering if the sport of hockey is really worth it anymore.
"Well we were supposed to win the gold medal going away, but after this loss I don't know what to think," said one long-time hockey fan in attendance. "Have I wasted my entire life playing and watching hockey? Or was it just Canadian hockey, because the Americans have clearly shown they are far superior in the sport. I mean they did beat us in Olympic pool play on Canadian ice."
While some take the time ponder if the sport is worth it, others are swearing off hockey for good.
"That's it. I'm officially done with hockey," said one fan sporting an official Canadian hockey sweater. "No more Hockey Night in Canada with Don Cherry and those awful jackets. It's curling for me. I've heard that's a popular sport, or game, or recreational activity. Whatever it is. Even if I don't like curling I've still got Canadian beer. That's much better than the water they brew in the States."
